Our events

Siddall & Company regularly holds breakfast and lunch time discussions for business leaders.  These popular events provide a forum for a select group of senior executives from a variety of backgrounds to meet, share experiences and discuss solutions to current business issues related to cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Previous events

Effective cultural integration can make an acquisition successful; cultural mis-matches can break a deal.  At our working lunch in April 2008, Patrick Dunne, Group Communications Director of 3i plc, spoke about 'Culture in M&A deals: a Private Equity perspective'.  Please click here for a full write up of the event.

Expanding companies seek cross-border synergies by merging with or acquiring other industry players.  However, hidden risks and liabilities, cultural differences and ingrained or vested interests often present unpredictable challenges.  At our lunch event in September 2007, Nigel Churton MBE, vice chairman of Control Risks Group, talked about 'managing the hidden risks of cross-border mergers and acquisitions'.  Please click here for a full write up of the event.

Success in mature markets does not guarantee success in fast growing emerging markets, far away from the centre of gravity of the organisation.  Globalisation forces growing businesses to question whether their organisation and culture is 'fit for purpose'.  At our breakfast event in February 2007, Bryan Sanderson CBE, former chairman of Standard Chartered plc, talked about 'organising for success in emerging markets'.  Please click here for a full write up of the event.
